Burning Sands Tournament Rules and Regulations

Tournament Rules

Introduction

The following rules and regulations dictate the manner in which the tournament will be conducted. The administrators will follow these rules when dealing with any players who have not abided by them. Players and team commanders need to make sure that they have read the rules and understand them and ensure that their actions do not breach these rules in any way.

Where an issue is not covered by one specific rule the administration team will use their best judgement to come to a fair and unbiased decision. Any decision made by the admin team is final. Any complaints about an admin decision can be made in the tournament support forum. These rules serve to keep the tournament in good order and allow maximum enjoyment for all parties concerned. Players are responsible for their own actions but team commanders and leaders are also responsible for the action of their team members and should ensure that they follow the rules. Any actions taken to undermine, circumnavigate or avoid tournament rules, is considered to be breaking tournament rules.

The tournament administration reserves the right to make alterations to the rules and regulations at any time without prior notice.

Tournament Spirit

The tournament is conducted in an environment where players can play in an organised friendly team structure without the fear of discrimination or abuse. All players shall play in a spirit of good sportsmanship and fair play that reach standards or realistic tactical gameplay.

Registration

Only one account is allowed per person and your forum name must match your in game names during the tournament. Once you sign up for a team you cannot swap teams during the current campaign. You agree to these rules and that of the ROLeague forum and understand that the administrator's word is final.

Communication

All players must use Ventrillo during battles. If a player is not on Ventrillo then they are not allowed to participate in the battle. All team leaders are required to own a microphone and all other ranks are encouraged to use one. All tournament rules apply within Ventrillo.

The use of external forums for planning and team administration is prohibited. All tournament related communication must be on the appropriate official forum section.

Team Tags

You must use the same name on both the forum and in game. Team tags should be worn at all times during official battles and can be worn in public should a player wish to do so. Any player found to be acting against the tournament ethos in a public server whilst wearing the tags will be removed from the tournament. Retired members can also choose to wear tournament tags should they wish, as long as they abide by the same guidelines.

Any players banned from the tournament are not allowed to wear tournament tags. Failure to remove the tags will lead to the administration requesting servers to ban the player in question.

Players without the correct tags in both Ventrillo and the server will be kicked and will be required to correct the issue until they can rejoin the server.

Conduct

Anyone found cheating will be instantly banned from the tournament and ROLeague and their information will be passed to all other competitive and community sites. Exploiting any bugs, whether they are known or unpublished is considered as cheating.

The use of any profane or racist language or behaviour in either, Ventrillo, the server or forum is breaking the tournament rules and players will be penalised.

Illegal Actions

Any intentional teamkilling or spawnkilling of any sort is not allowed. This includes before, during and after battle. Destruction of friendly assets and suicide tactics are also disallowed. Suicide tactics include running into enemies with a live grenade/satchel.

Battle Procedure

Pre Battle;

All players should assemble in Ventrillo with their correct name and tags and in their correct channels. Once in the Ventrillo server the player must seek permission to joint the server and once within the server join the correct team.

In game chat and teamkilling is not allowed and offenders will be warned and kicked should it persist.

A battle is not live until an administrator states it is. If you miss the live announcement it is your fault!

The server information will be released 30 minutes ahead of the battle and once the information is released players may begin joining. 5 minutes before a map start the map will be reloaded and ready mode entered. Once in ready mode a team must have a minimum of 10 players, if a team does not have 10 players, 10 minutes after the battle start time they will forfeit that map.

The maximum number of players allowed on a team is 24. Any players joining after a team has reached this number will be automatically kicked.

During Battle;

Global chat is not allowed by anyone except for team commanders and administrators.

After Battle;

The winner of the maps will be announced officially on the forum after the battle has ended as long as neither team submits a complaint. A team has 24 hours to submit a complaint, which should be filed by the team commander in the support thread.
